About Helen
How Helen went from daily hip pain to pain-free living, and why she wants the same for you.
Before I discovered fascia release, I thought living with hip pain from an old injury was just my reality. I'd accepted that aches and pains were part of getting older. Something you manage, not something you fix.
I was wrong.
When I found Block Therapy, things changed. I learned that the body knows how to repair itself when you give it the right conditions. Fascia, the connective tissue that holds us together, when it's released from years of compression, allows the body to find its natural alignment again. The pain I'd been living with for years started to shift.
What I found changed things enough that I wanted to learn how to teach it. I became Australia's first certified Block Therapy Instructor and Therapist. Not because I wanted a credential, but because I needed to share what I'd discovered.
Since then, I've worked with hundreds of students across Australia and around the world. I've seen people put down their pain medication, come off CPAP machines, move their bodies freely for the first time in decades. Each story humbles me.
From Block Therapy Bliss to SloFlow
Block Therapy Bliss began as the home for Helen's cedar-block fascia release work. It was where students could learn the foundations of Block Therapy, understand the power of fascia release, buy blocks, begin with free classes, and get support from Helen as Australia's first certified Block Therapy Instructor and Therapist.
Over time, the work naturally evolved. Block Therapy created the awareness of how important fascia release is, but Helen and Heidi Hunter began to see that the body did not need to be pushed toward pain to change. It needed safety, patience, nervous system support, and space to soften.
That is why SloFlow was created. SloFlow is very different from Block Therapy now. Instead of seeking pain or forcing a release, it teaches you to slow down, relax, listen, and allow your body to release in its own time. The focus is on creating the conditions for fascia to soften naturally.
So Block Therapy Bliss remains part of Helen's story and the beginning of this journey. SloFlow is where the work has grown: a gentler somatic fascia release practice with live classes, recordings, and ongoing community support on Skool.
What is SloFlow?
SloFlow is a somatic fascia release practice I co-created with Heidi Hunter. It grew from the awareness that releasing fascia is important, but the way we approach release matters. Instead of chasing intensity, SloFlow works with your nervous system so your body can relax, soften, and release.
"Somatic" just means relating to the body. SloFlow asks you to slow down, breathe, and pay attention to what your body is telling you. It's not about grinding through pain. It's about giving your body the space to soften and find its own alignment.
Three things happen when you practise SloFlow:
Slow Movement
Deliberate, gentle movements that allow fascia to soften rather than resist.
Nervous System Regulation
Slow breath and stillness shift your body out of fight-or-flight, making deeper release possible.
Restorative Alignment
As fascia releases, the body gradually finds its natural upright posture.
